بعد الخطأ الطبي الذي كان ضحيته أحد الأطفال القاطنين بمدينة زايو، وتأثير ذلك عليه صحيا، تدخلت وزارة الصحة والحماية الاجتماعية، حيث تكفلت بهذه الحالة الإنسانية.
وجاء تدخل الوزارة بعدما تكفلت النائبة البرلمانية فريدة خنيتي بملف هذا الطفل، حيث عرضته على وزير الصحة، خالد آيت الطالب، حينها قرر أن تتكفل الوزارة بابن زايو.
وكان الطفل ذو التسع سنوات قد دخل أحد المستشفيات من أجل إجراء عملية جراحية، غير أنه أثناء إجراء العملية أصيب على مستوى الحنجرة، وهو ما سبب له معاناة صحية بليغة.
ويتواجد اليوم الطفل وأسرته داخل المستشفى الجامعي محمد السادس بوجدة، وقد أكدت الأسرة أنه يتلقى الرعاية اللازمة، تحت أعين وزارة الصحة، وبرعاية خاصة من كاتبة ديوان الوزير التي تواكب التدخل الطبي لفائدة الطفل
